We had a great lunch here after waling the gardens nearby. The service was great with friendly staff, and the food was amazing. The pineapple fried rice was served in a pineapple which was an interesting and enjoyable touch. We sampled a number of delicious dumplings as well as the spring rolls. My curiosity jumped at trying their pepper and onion kangaroo, and it was beautifully prepared and tasted amazing. Definitely a win.

Their friendliness and willingness to accommodate made our visit all the more enjoyable. While The East might not boast fine dining, it doesn't need to. The focus here is on delicious food, great value, and a breathtaking location. Not every restaurant needs fancy plating to impress. Sometimes, it's the authenticity and warmth that truly shine through. Our experience at The East was nothing short of delightful. As two patrons, we dined outside along Circular Quay with views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We came during a Sunday lunch without a booking and promptly found a table to sit. We ordered the honey prawn and kai lan for lunch with plain rice and we were both full after eating these. The waiters were lovely and spoke politely in English and in Cantonese and were very attentive. Will be a returning customer.
